I Sleep…
Posted 21-Oct-2020 03:21 amSongs Of Solomon 2:8-13
I have drifted off again
Far from the Love of my life
Far from the fire of His warm embrace.
My soul has cooled off from the heat of His fiery love.
I sleep…
My heart is weary
Dried of love and prayer, emptied of burden, and blurred of vision
Yet I am asleep, relaxed into the cooler, sighing over my state, yet helplessly lazy.
I sleep…
I sleep in the dream realms of earth,
Passive to the iniquity around me,
Relaxed, cooling off in the corridors of unbelief, wandering if and when I will shine.
I roam in the streets of lukewarmness as if my Lover is not able to bring forth His purpose
I sleep…
O Lord,
I sleep away from the purpose of Your rest,
I had wandered but You found me and brought me into Your arms,
How then am I cooled off?
How can I stand with You and yet not be moved?
For Your love is like fire, Your rest refreshing and empowering
I sleep away from Your plans and purposes
I know them yet I see...

A Fresh Start...
Posted 18-Jan-2016 10:47 amSometimes when your oil is drying up,
The old habits which were once crucified on the Cross of Jesus Christ,
Begin to ensue and resurface again,
The body of sin that had been put to death,
And the selfish desires that were then buried,
All of a sudden, without prior information,
Resume their former offices and duties,
O yes, it is a sign of DEPLETED GRACE...,
The full oil has all been used up, Now,
There is the need for a REFILLING...
Sometimes when your lamp is burning low,
The light that was once shining,
Giving direction and discretion to all and sundry,
Lightening up the soul in perfect holiness,
Become so dim that caution must now be taken,
before a single step is lifted forward,
"Lest I hit my foot against any obstacle",
O yes, it is a sign of SMOKING FLAX,
The real light has gone out, Now,
There is the need for a RELIGHTING.
Sometimes, when your strength is fading out,
The little temp...

All Things are Lawful
Posted 16-Oct-2015 11:23 amAll things are lawful, but not everything is expedient...
There are many things the life of a man is filled with,
Myriads of things in this world that look very important,
The targets set for you in the office,
The lots of paraphernalia I need to attend to at home,
The defence of things I need to be engaged in
The memos I need to write
The information and activities I need to prepare and let out
All these and many more are calling for the attention of a man daily
And man spends the last dot of his time,
In pursuing these and many more things alike,
But the question is, which side do these fall - the lawful, or the expedient?
The lawful things are things that urgently demand my attention,
But eternity does not reckon with such things.
They are good and should be done,
But they are not rewardable by heaven's standards.
I will get no crown for the time I spent to perfect my secular engagements,
Neither will there be an additional star or a richer mansion above,
Because...

Come Lord Jesus...
Posted 27-Aug-2015 10:06 amI awoke from off my bed this morning,
And sat praying for the quick return
Of Him, whom my soul has served,
And longed for in obedience these faded days...
How sweet and comforting to imagine it again,
That Christ returneth with clouds and glory,
To receive to Himself the awaiting saints,
Of whom the world was not worthy - the Fools.
Oh, dark were the nights sin warred against us,
Painful were the moments of sorrows we bore,
Deep were the cuts that sent out thick blood profusely,
In persecution seasons, because we'll not deny Christ.
While mates rose to heights because they compromised,
And Juniors displaced us for they could lie and bribe,
We were left down with burden in tears on the knees,
For we couldn’t exchange our faith for earthly ephemerals.
My soul thinks, waits and expects
The moment of that deafening blast,
In a twinkling of an eye, I'll be with Him,
To dwell in a land beyond compare for aye.
Oh my blessed Saviour, I'm keeping myself -...

My Besetting Sin...
Posted 24-Jul-2015 08:57 amEnsnared by its choking pangs, and
Edged in, in the sinking sand,
I've tried all my possible best,
Seeking and Searching for Soul rest,
That just for some few days,
I may be released from this 'sin'
Prayers have rolled while on the knees I stayed,
My tears have been my meat all day,
As I wondered how battered and degraded I've sunk,
'Neath the heavy load of this immoral passion.
I paced out of room in the mornings - grace-filled,
But stagger back in the forenoon sin-stained,
Any prayer uttered betimes to my Father,
Commences with, 'have mercy on me, a wretched sinner'.
What shall I do, Oh Lord to this flesh of sin,
As the God-repelling stench almost becomes a habit,
In this 'orld below, I'm almost asking,
If it's possible to live - just a month - sin free
Oh, deliver me, deliver me, Lord I cry,
For man's besetting sin also takes to hell,
Till every voice within me be still,
And I'm dead to the world, ... dead to the looks for aye...

Short Accounts with God [2]
Posted 22-Jun-2015 03:52 pmMany lament their lack of fellowship with God,
And often sigh for their prayerlessness,
Hence, from sweet graces, they've been robbed,
Because they wouldn't take some time with God.
Many crave to spend long time in a phase,
They plan for hours of secret communion.
To this, they are faithful for two (2) days,
And in the third (3rd), they're back to square one.
You may not find an hour stretch to pray,
But Four 15-minute or Six 10-minute periods will pay.
Though in short bursts they're spent with no delay,
Yet, an hour in a jiffy has just passed away.
15 minutes is a whole lot of minutes,
To have sweet communion with the Holy Spirit.
You can never be short of words with it,
Or be bored while lingering, waiting for the limit.
Oh!, the house is too busy today...!,
Have you tried withdrawing to the toilet for to stay,
For just a 15 minute retreat in the morn,
Or taking a 10 minute stroll in sweet communion?
Wake up 15 minutes ear...

Christless Days...
Posted 22-Jun-2015 02:00 pmOh, the evils and perils of spent days
Without a jot of embedded prayers,
Worse still, are those with added prayers,
But the prayers just sprinkled the days,
It were better, if 'I' hadn't prayed...
Count the day ill-spent,
When it began in Sweet intercourse,
And ended on the bed
without a 'good night' unto the Lord.
Number the day one of those that made your Christian life unstable,
When, for whole 24 hours, there may be sprinkled prayers,
and some little Bible readings, but,
The heart, here below stayed,
Never once did it break through into the blessed rest and heavenly affection.
Call that day Godless,
When more of it was spent,
Talking with man on earth matters,
OR talking to man for God,
Rather than talking with/to God for man
Name that day useless,
When it began in secret ember of waiting on the Lord,
But along the way, 'broken' due to fatigue...
Oh, the blessed day has been turned 'fleshy',
When from ...
