But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth, and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the masters use, and prepared unto every good work. [2 Timothy 2:20-21]


In every house, there are different types of vessels made of different materials, some vessels are made of gold material, others are made of silver, others are of wood and others still are made of clay. It is NOT the material that a vessel is made of that shows whether that vessel is useful or useless. NO, EACH VESSEL (REGARDLESS OF ITS MATERIAL-WHETHER GOLD OR CLAY) will determine based on its own decision to be either of noble and honorable use OR to be of ignoble and dishonorable use.

To be a vessel of gold or silver does not automatically mean you will be of noble uses, NO, even gold can become cankered and tarnished, silver can become corroded and rusted (James 5:3). There are great men in whom God poured great grace, talents and anointing – vessels of gold you may call them – but, pride got into their head, and they misused the grace of God, THEY BECAME VESSELS UNTO DISHONOUR, LEADING MANY PEOPLE ASTRAY. WHEREAS, there are humble, lowly and simple people, who do not have much energy to run around like Paul the Apostle – vessels of Clay you may call them – yet, they are sources of untold blessings in our world.

In your house, there are vessels of clay, some are for noble uses, while some others are for dirty, ignoble uses. That special, precious ceramic plate you use to serve very important guests, do you know that they are made of clay, and they are of beautiful, noble and honorable use, whereas, the wash-hand basin and water closet in your toilet are made of the same clay like the ceramic plate, yet, they are of dirty, ignoble uses.

Of course, everybody loves to be a vessel of gold, but the issue is that NOT EVERYBODY will be vessels of gold. There would be other vessels of silver, wood and clay also. Not everybody would be an Apostle or Prophet like Elijah who called fire down, there would be some quiet Dorcas, Acquila and Priscilla also. Not everybody would be a Paul the Apostle who went everywhere establishing churches, there would be some quiet brothers as well. Depending on how God made you, and for what purpose He created you particularly, there would be different vessels for different purposes. BUT YOU WILL DECIDE WHETHER YOUR LIFE WILL BE GLORIOUS OR IT WOULD BE USELESS.

You may be great, endowed and anointed like Paul, OR you may be simple, little and unknown like Dorcas, EITHER WAY, God wants you to be a vessel unto Honour.


2Timothy 2:20-21

God is interested in USING particular vessels that are WHOLLY dedicated unto Him. God is NOT INTERESTED in sharing His vessel with any other party. YOU ARE EITHER FOR GOD ABSOLUTELY, OR GOD WOULD HAVE NONE OF YOU.

Special vessels are wholly dedicated unto the man in the house. As a Daddy in the house, you have your special plate dedicated unto you. ONLY DADDY makes use of this special plate or bowl to drink pepper soup.

Imagine your special dish in the house. Everybody knows that THIS BELONGS SOLELY TO DADDY. This is Daddys pepper soup plate. BUT the new MAID in the house was looking for a bowl to use to serve food for the pig or the dog, and she carried Daddys bowl.
- Then someone shouts: “NO, THAT BELONGS TO DADDY!!!”
- Maid: “Daddy? Do not worry, I will clean and sanitize once the dogs finish with it. AT LEAST, DADDY IS NOT AROUND FOR NOW UNTIL SUNDAY… THE DOGS WILL USE IT DURING THE WEEK, BUT DADDY WILL USE IT ON SUNDAYS”

OF COURSE, once the dogs are through, the Maid makes sure she cleans, sanitizes and purges the plate perfectly for Daddy – everything is SPARKLING…

Now, Daddy is back, and Daddy uses the same plate to drink his favourite pepper soup.

QUESTION???
If someone suddenly informs you that the same plate that is used to serve you food, is the same one the pigs share with you, WHAT WOULD BE YOUR REACTION? I am sure you will vomit that food, discard the plate forever and possible send the maid away…

Friend, how does it feel that the plate you use to eat daily, is the same container others use whenever you are not around, to “clean up” after using the toilet? WOULD IT NOT HAVE BEEN A GREAT INSULT? EVEN THOUGH THEY SANITIZE THE PLATE VERY PERFECTLY FOR YOUR USE, WOULD YOU ACCEPT THAT RUBBISH?

Now, the question is, “do you know that you are that great important VESSEL wholly separated apart unto GOD ALONE, and God would not want to share you with another?

Is it not an insult to God when you share your life, your heart and members of your body between God and something else!!!

On Sundays, you make yourself holy unto God as HIS SPECIAL VESSEL. Your mouth sings beautifully [Jesus, how I love You, I lay my life before You – beautiful singing] –BUT ONCE SUNDAY IS OVER, you CURSE with the same mouth. You borrow Gods vessel to use for many ignoble uses. You carry Gods pepper soup plate (which is your life) and use it to feed the dog, AND YOU SILENTLY TELL YOURSELF, “WELL I WILL REPENT AND CLEAN UP MYSELF PERFECTLY BEFORE THE NEXT SERVICE, SO THAT GOD CAN STILL USE ME…” WHAT AN INSULT!!!

GOD IS NOT JUST INTERESTED IN A HOLY, CLEAN VESSEL, HE IS MORE INTERESTED IN CONSECRATED VESSELS THAT ARE SET APART UNTO HIM ALONE….

Are you holy on Sunday, but dirty of Friday, and then you quickly clean up yourself and repent whenever you want to approach the table of the Lord?

Let it be clearly impressed upon your heart today that:

You are Gods special Vessel. God would rather pack you aside completely than share you with another. God is jealous over you, and He wants you ONLY, SOLELY, CONSECRATED and SET APART for Himself ALONE. He is not interested in your continuous tears of repentance and cleansing, He wants you ABSOLUTELY – whether on Sunday Morning or on Friday night, whether in Church or in the market, whether you are with friends or with enemies, whether situations are sweet or unpalatable…

Only those who are really set apart unto the Lord can He really use for His glory.

Friend, are you still halting between two opinions or you have come in? Jesus says, if you want to come in, THEN COME IN FULLY – SPIRIT, SOUL AND BODY. AND IF YOU ARE NOT READY TO COME IN ABSOLUTELY, THEN THERE IS NO NEED TO COME AT ALL, BECAUSE JESUS MAY END UP SPITTING YOU OUT OF HIS MOUTH…
