GODS VESSEL SERIES - 1

And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: ... And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God..., behold, thou shalt conceive ..., and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: and he shall reign... for ever. and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? [Luke 1:28-34 selected]


... Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee:...

The angel didnt see any greater salute, any greater blessing to release upon Mary than to say, "the Lord is with thee...". If she was so highly favoured and was specially blessed among women, then the greatest and highest blessing was what she deserved. This greatest and best blessing was nothing else than the divine presence of God. It appears therefore that the greatest treasure in the life of a man, is that the presence of God abides in such a life.


...behold, thou shalt...

In all of these wonderful things that will begin to happen through Mary, I am asking and wondering, "what is the assignment of Mary in all of this?, what does she have to do in order to get these to happen? I noticed with amazement that all that Mary has to do in order for the divine will of God to be accomplished is NOTHING. Whatever Mary did before in order to get her to this stage of being considered by The Lord as the divine vessel, was sufficient as far as God is concerned. All she needed to continue to do is to remain a worthy vessel that she had always been.

God always looks for vessels, NOT executors. God Himself is the executor of His mandate. The mandate begins from God and is being executed by Him. God Himself is the Brain behind His works, not man. Whatever I have to do to help God, is not acceptable to Him. If any work fails, it is because I have decided to take up another assignment other than SIMPLY REMAINING A VESSEL.


...How shall this thing be, seeing I know not a man?

It is normal with man to believe and think that he can enter into divine, spiritual things through the means of humanly approved natural methods. Man always believes he has a part in executing Gods counsel before it can stand, other than simply being Gods vessel. In the mind of Mary, there is no possibility of conception without the union of a man and a woman, and this is NATURALLY, HUMANLY true. But in the mind of God, God is not looking for another man born of the flesh, by the union of a man and a woman. Such union will never produce the kind of man He needs. Gods kind of man [fulfilled in Christ Jesus] was vividly described by the angel in verse 32-33, and this is beyond the capability of any man. Men that are born have kingdoms with an expiry date, but this One will have an everlasting kingdom. Men that are born normally will reign over others, but their reigns do not last forever, whereas, this Great man to be born, has a different reign that never ends.
So, in response, the Angel quickly told Mary: "No, dont worry, this kind of Man that will be conceived by you, can come forth ONLY if the HOLY GHOST comes upon thee. In fact, the reason why we(heaven) need you (Mary) now, is because you know not a man. If you had known a man in the first sense, you would have been a misfit, and would never have even been in the picture".

If man touches this or has a part in this, it will be bastardised. This has NOTHING to do with man. Man can only scatter and destroy it. Any assistance from man will simply nullify it. To help God out is to destroy it totally. All that God needs to do His work is the Holy Spirit in His power, and THAT, WITHOUT MAN. The natural man always wants to lean on something to use for pleasing God - something he can do-, and never wants to surrender to God to simply work in him.

Many times when God wants to work, He chooses or selects the means or the vessel He wishes to use - a man, in whom He can pour Himself, to get HIS works done. But as men, we misunderstand what we call consecration and commitment, thinking that God needs our input, and we must be here and there, up and down, labouring in our strength and ability to measure up to Gods standard. So we do lots of things and label them consecration, commitment, but in the eyes of God, He is asking, "who has asked all these from your hands?". We want to look for the knowing of a man in order to conceive what is of God, but God says no!, only that which is conceived in the power and the overshadowing of the Holy Ghost can really be divinely used of God. So, in my mind now, true consecration is not the numerous activities of the flesh that we engage ourselves in, till we die out, rather, it is the surrenderedness of our all to be overshadowed by the Holy Spirit as He does His work in and through us, while we simply let Him.

Many times we ask questions and cry out: "O God, I know not a man...", and God says, as long as you are still looking for a man, then my work in and through you remains dormant. When we are complaining betimes, saying: "O God, how shall this thing be, seeing I know not a man..., O God get me the man, the tool, so that I can do your work...", God response simply is, "...The Holy Ghost shall..."

What God needed from Mary was A BODY (See Heb 10:5-9). This body can only come out of the womb of a woman - you cannot get it from any other place apart from the womb. All men that come into this world came out of the wombs of women, they were given a body, but the problem is that such bodies carry something that is contaminated- the adamic nature. When a man is born, God has simply got a body He can use, but that body is filled and occupied with something wrong. Whatever good that God does to this man is simply in anticipation of the day when HE will be free, emptied of the wrong man, so that the body which was what God needed and why he was born initially can be filled with Gods man. When Adam was first made, the same principle was adopted. A body was prepared that would contain Gods man. In the same vein, God needed a body for Christ - and that body must be 100% empty (of sinful nature) so that it can contain Christ.

This same principle of God has not changed today for every man who carries the nature of sin. The body contains something wrong - the sinful nature, which God wants to evacuate, so that He can pour into him His own man - the new man. Sacrifices and offerings which men give today - no matter how sweet and savoury they may be, are not the things that God is looking for, they all cannot please Him, once they are coming out of the old man, they are all useless. All God needs, is a body for Himself.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh. The flesh can only give birth to flesh, no matter what he does. A Yoruba man can only produce a Yoruba offspring, even if the offspring was born in Hausa land, speaking Hausa, eating Hausa food..., his actions and activities (sacrifices and offerings) cannot change who he is, the only way he can become a Hausa man now is to die. A Hausa man can ONLY be born by a Hausa man.
