Moses was Faithful...

And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after [Hebrews 3:5]

Moses was a man who had prepared to inscribe his name into the history books. By the life he purposed to live, he decided to write history with it. He didnt stop history by his life, instead he wrote history that will be referred to in many years with the kind of life he lived.

Many people cannot see beyond their noses, they concentrate on the numerous gains of today, without thinking about the message their lives are sending out to the world. Whatever they get today, they consume it wholly upon their lusts. They are selfish, self centred and only concerned about how issues affect them in the present. They dont have eyes for tomorrow. They labour for the meat that perishes and never for that which endures till eternity and is worth making references to. Bible says that for a testimony of those things that would be spoken after, Moses decided to be faithful to the last dot in all of Gods house.

History that will be referred to later in future are the occurrences of today. We have histories to fall back on today, because God moved with some fathers in the past. To those fathers, what they did was in their own present, but for us, it has become history. We can make reference to the past, learn from the great men in the past, get nuggets, truth and challenges on the way and manner in which God walks with men, and how men became dear friends of God by simply looking at some of those historical men who have gone before. These men decided seriously within them that they would not live as other men. They decided that the worldly things that other men in their days pursued that robbed them of serious commitment to God would not be their own pursuits. They decided to deny themselves of several legitimate things so that they could create sufficient space for God. These old men looked and saw something ahead of them, and they knew that the only way to get their names inscribed in gold forever, whereby people in many years to come would still make references to them, was by giving themselves unreservedly to God at their present, no matter the cost.

Whatever I am doing today, is only a foundation for the future. My present works are but seeds sown that others would pluck of its fruits later in life. If I concentrate on that which only gives me present pleasures regardless of future glory, I would be sowing tares. Moses decided to be faithful amidst oppositions, trials, denials, good things of life that he would miss, just for a beautiful testimony ahead of him. He regarded a good name inscribed in gold much more greater that a good pocket full of cash, hence he spent his now to pursue a great name in God. Though he had opportunities to position himself in the world, yet he chose to forfeit them in order to gain the riches of Christ. He refused to be called the son of Pharaohs daughter even though that was the definition of greatness in his days. He chose rather to suffer afflictions with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. He esteemed the reproach of Christ as greater riches than the treasures in Egypt, and he had respect unto the recompence of divine reward. He forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the Pharaoh, and endured because he had seen the invisible God revealed unto him.

By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaohs daughter, Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible [Hebrews 11:24-27]

When men are going to be speaking about great men of God, would my name be mentioned? When a catalogue of passionate, fiery, prayerful men are going to be written, which number down the list will my name appear, or it would not even be nominated for consideration? Will I be among the unserious men, and the cold men?

In other to inscribe his name in history, the path that Moses trod to achieve this, was simply that HE WAS FAITHFUL.
