What is my capacity?

Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum. And a certain Centurions servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die. And when he heard of Jesus... [Luke 7:1-3a]

...He had ended ALL His sayings...

Ended ALL? Does it mean that Jesus had exhausted all the treasures in Him at this point, so He had to stop speaking? Is it that He had nothing else to release unto men? I was thinking that Christ was bottomless, unsearchable and endless in His depth of wisdom, and therefore no man could ever drain Him because He is inexhaustible? Isnt it an insult even to compare the wealth of Christs treasures to the boundless oceans, since He created the ocean? Why is the Bible now saying that He had ended all His sayings? If He had more in Him to say, why not continue to release it?

Well, Jesus is inexhaustible. But He knows the exact portion that a man needs at every point in time, so that they will not be choked. He knows the capacity of every individual, hence, the proportion of what to release and the timing. He would not cast holy things unto vain men. He would not cast His pearls before the swine. The swine here, may not necessarily be sinners, but they are “wasters”. Jesus is not trying to impress anybody. He will not give you what you do not presently need just because He wants to “show off”, never! He will relate with you at your level.

Jesus does not necessarily determine how much to release by Himself, it is my capacity that will determine the quantity of what He will release. If a man does not grow up in the grace of God, such a man is simply shortchanging himself, because God will never release unto him what he is not capable of retaining. If God is still speaking to me at the same level as He did yesterday, and it looks as if He is hiding something, I need to check myself very well, maybe my capacity is small.

God will never pour out 50 liters volume of treasures into a 45 liters container, He is not a waster. If God needs to release 50 liters of treasure at any time, He will bypass any man who does not have the capacity to retain the whole of it. He will only consider those who have a capacity of at least 50 liters or more. He will not give you a 45 just to pity you because that is all you can contain. It is either He gives you the 50 or He gives you nothing, and waits till your capacity increases.

The way God deals with me is a reflection of how much of myself I have released unto Him. God does not pour new wine into old wineskin. He knows it will be wasted. He knows well that it is better to give you nothing, and wait until you have “grown” before He releases anything unto you, than to trust you with anything now that will eventually be wasted.
God is jealous over what He releases. He is jealous with His treasures. He hates wastage. If God is bypassing me, it is not that God is too sectional or practices favoritism. It is because I am unusable/useless for what He wants to do. God cannot manage mediocrity. He would rather withhold revival than send it to wasters.

Is there a part in me where God is not finding expressions? Am I frustrating the grace of God in my life by refusing to grow up?

There is something deep in the heart of The Lord that He does not just share with anybody. Only those who are hungry actually are able to pick out what it is that Jesus has left unrevealed. Only those who have enough capacity in them can feel the insufficiency of what God has released which makes them yearn for more, but which other light men received and are satisfied with. This is one of the criteria that Jesus uses to check our level of affection/longing/desire. If you have become choked with the little you have received, then He holds on to the rest. But when you are hungry for more, He releases more BASED on the quantity of your hunger. He will not give you more than your “stomach” can take. He knows if He does that, you will vomit out even the one you could naturally retain, and vomits will only become useless and wasted, it can never be swallowed back again.
